Welcome to What's on My Mind- a blog for teachers!

My name is Aarti Gupta and I am a primary teacher. I have been teaching in an International school in Hong Kong as a Team Leader and have taught different year groups- both upper and lower Year groups.

I am passionate about student agency and anything and everything that helps my students become owner of their own thinking and learning.

I have been teaching for last 15 years; through various professional development opportunities and my own appetite to read, I have gained new perspective, wisdom and lots of resources that I wish to share with the readers, who visit my blog. I would love to hear your feedback and views about the posts and this blog. Kindly leave your comments in the comments section below.

I am a life long learner and enjoy learning about my profession.

I believe teaching is a constant renewal of perspectives, learning to learn with students and colleagues, relearn and unlearn as we intentionally grow with our new experiences. It is an exciting journey that we make even more exciting by collaboration with others; by sharing our dilemmas and challenges that we face in our own practice and in our classrooms.

Teaching is an exciting journey and what I have learned is not entirely on my own!

Imagine going on a hike, on your own... some of us would find this lonely, and challenging! In contrast, when we have a buddy to hike with, it changes the experience to a much more fun and exciting journey.

Similarly, as a teacher, a lone journey would be a tiresome and overwhelming experience. We constantly need peers and colleagues to share our aha moments and frustrations to help us unlearn and relearn. Hence, I started this blog as I would like to share my journey with all of you.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts and blog and find all of it useful and above everything else, it makes you wonder! What else would you expect from a blog of an inquiry teacher? :)
